But it's only July!
This is a lengthy project--principal photography started in October 2009 (see the picture above) and is scheduled to continue into late 2010. But that's okay; we knew what we were getting ourselves into so it's all good.
Work on the feature-length documentary The Spirits of Detroit (in collaboration with Addovolt Productions) is going very well. Some beautiful videography so far and MUCH more to go over the next few months since this is one of those on-and-off projects that requires a lot of acrobatic scheduling and travel. But it's absolutely worth it:)
The Spirits of Detroit is an extensive narrative documentary centered on (of course) the ghosts, ghouls, and legends of the Motor City. There's certainly a lot to work with for this definitely spooky and deeply historical area of America.
We have interviews with folklorists, a terrific narrator, great stories, and (last but certainly not least).......incident recreations! (meaning actors, costumes, and horror film lighting)
I think that I'll be sad when this project ends. But, luckily, that won't be for a while since we'll be working on Spirits in bits and pieces while we work on other projects.
